Charlotte In the Tradition of Thich Nhat Hanh |
|
Newcomers are welcome. No experience needed. Please wear comfortable clothing. The floor is carpeted. We have a few extra meditation cushions and benches, as well as chairs.
We meet Sunday mornings and Thursday evenings in Room 27 at Myers Park Baptist Church in Charlotte, North Carolina. The church is located at 1931 Selwyn Avenue, directly across Selwyn Avenue from Queens University. Parking is available on street and in the church parking lots. Please click on the address above for mapquest directions to the church.
Here are two sets of directions to the room once you arrive at the church. On Thursday nights, particularly during the summer when much of the church is locked, you may find it easier to enter through the Cornwell Center doors.
Sunday mornings and School Year Thursdays: The Education Building sits immediately behind the church sanctuary. Our room is in the basement. Enter through the doors facing the back of the sanctuary. Go to your right, where you will find an elevator or stairs. Go down one flight to the basement. If using the elevator, turn right when you get off and go to the end of the hall. If using the stairs, make a left-hand u-turn out of the stairwell and go to the end of the hall. Room 27 is marked with its number and a sign that says, “Meditation.”
Summer Thursday evenings: Park in the Cornwell Center lot across from Queens. Enter the lobby through the main doors of the Cornwell Center. Go down the first hall to the left. Follow the hall until it ends. You will be in the Education building lobby. Continue to the left until the lobby ends and look for the stairwell. Go downstairs. Once at the basement level take a left and then an immediate left down that hall. Go straight. You will reach the Meditation Room before the next bend. |
